One morning in January, the athletes covered the entire road in the cold sun. The end of the race seemed near. A huge crowd (fair) was encouraging the athletes who had gathered to participate in the annual run of the Mumbai Marathon. Doctors, lawyers, company officials, housewives and students all gathered there to take part in the biggest physical exam of their lives.
For some it was the end of a journey that had begun months or years before the day of the race. Some people came from very small towns with very limited training facilities.
