Khalil Gibran, one of the best thinkers of the world, was born on January 6, 1883 in the village of Bisheri (present-day Republic of Lebanon) in Mount Lebanon. His mother’s name was Kamila Rahimi, the daughter of a priest. His father’s name was Khalil, who was the servant of the local Sultan. Kamila was 30 years old at the time of her birth. Khalil Gibran was the first child of her third husband. After his birth, two more daughters were born to Kamila, Mariana in 1885 and Sultana in 1887.
